The core purpose of Children's Cancer Institute Australia is to improve treatments, find cures and ultimately eliminate childhood cancer through medical research. Children with cancer were given a liberal dose of hope recently with a generous donation of $250,000 from Lions Clubs Australia to the Children' 5 Cancer Institute of Australia, bringing the total of funds donated by Lions in recent years to more than $750,000.

"The purpose of the Fellowship is to raise funds to support the Spinal Cord Society Australia Inc. in funding Australia scientists or clinicians to study the latest techniques of spinal cord injury both within Australia and the USA to the intent that the knowledge and experience so gained shall be made available to the Australian public."

Our Multiple District experienced a significant net loss in membership for the year ended 30th June, 2001 of in excess of 700 members. This is the largest net loss since 1995/96 and indicated that we needed to re-assess our strategies if we wanted to reverse the trend.

Every year since 1961, young people have participated in the Lions International Youth Exchange Program.
